You have thrown light on PHP language to me, but could you explain me more about the PSD (photoshop) to HTML conversion? If you able to tell me about importance of semantic code then it will be good for me to understand well.

About PH+SD to HTML, actually i didn't try before but what i know that adobe photoshop allows you to cut the image of design you draw for your site , and then you can use these images cuts within your HTML scripts or template .
