All the domain names all over the web are recorded on servers called “Name Serversâ€. Using the Name Servers and Domain Name System (DNS) Server .We match the domain name to corresponding IP address so machines can work on it. The Domain names are easier to remember and to deal with for the humans more than IP addresses.
Dynamic DNS is a method that allows you to link your dynamic IP address to your domain name. There are so many providers to this service these days, they sell clients programs to you, and you use this software to link private network with dynamic generated IP from your internet service provider (ISP) with a hostname .The ISPs use Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP) to assign dynamic IP address to machines connected to them .With the great flexibility the Dynamic DNS gives it to us ,webmasters can make their own hosting .
The market of the Dynamic DNS providers is increasing rapidly especially for home hosting because of the high spend internet connection that has been available.
Most routers now have a built in support in their firmware to dynamic DNS. (For ex: UMAX UGate-3000 product at 1999).
Providers of DDNS do offers like: -Worldwide network of nameservers. -Provides a static presence without a static IP. -Much less costly than a static IP. -Useful for any service where your IP can change. -Dynamically update your host records and MX records -Updates occur in real-time -Works with Mac, Linux, and Windows clients -Included in both DNS and DNS-Plus service
