Earlier this year I registered a domain name with an entity that I'll
refer to as provider A In the near future, hopefully, I'll complete
the design for at least the home page of this new web-site, and will
then decide on a web host, who will be provider B

When the domain name renewal comes due next year, I may want to switch
the registration from A to a different agent who I'll refer to as
provider C

As I've never done this before, can anyone point out any problems I
may encounter, and what steps should I take to prevent any problems?

Thanks for any suggestions from all of you who have been there, done that.

You are mixing up domain registeration and renewal with hosting
service and renewal. You will have fees for both. Most hosting
sites include the service of registering the domain name but in your
case this will not be necessary. However, there is an advantage of
having both covered or arranged for by one entity, billing. I would
recommend that if you do any switching that it be so the host picks
up the domain registeration. So look for a host that will do that
for you.

I followed pretty much the same path that you have except I arranged
for both domain and host before I was ready to make use of them. It
was probably 6-8 months into the first year before I was ready. Cost
me some money that could have been avoided.

In accordance with expansion on the Internet domain portfolios of various companies has grown very rapidly. It is not longer uncommon for a company to own hundreds of domain names which they have purchased at different points of times over the years. Due to that fact it has become very hard to keep track when these expire. This has caused a great number of problems: Homepages seize to exist, e-mails stop working and in the worst cases companies have lost their entire IT-communication.To avoid this problem Domain Renewal has developed a system which constantly monitors and reminds companies about their domains. It is not uncommon for companies to have purchased their domains with different suppliers which make it even harder to keep track of their domain portfolio. We at Domain Renewal will find and renew your domains for you. By using Domain Renewal to extend your domains you will no longer have to worry for your domain portfolio.
