In Europe, the perceived disadvantages of being freelance have led the European Union to research the area, producing draft papers that would, if enforced, make it illegal for companies or organisations to employ freelances direct, unless the freelancer was entitled to benefits such as pension contributions and holiday pay. In the UK, where the terms of integration in to the EU have and are being hotly debated, this would lead to a significant reshaping of the way freelance work is dealt with and have a major impact on industry; employers would be required either to give freelances the contractual rights of employees, or employ only freelancers already being employed by agencies or other organisations granting them these rights. However, the White Papers that recommend such moves have not yet been adopted in the EU, and the potential impact on UK employment laws is being opposed by key UK organisations lobbying the government to negotiate over the acceptance of EU legislation in such areas

this would advance to a cogent about-face of the way freelance plan is dealt with and accept a above applause on industry. apply alone freelancers already getting active by agencies or added organizations acceding them these rights.

Right now I’m a part of a fast growing company, and this is something that a consultant can never have. In order for me to pilot this massive new architecture, there has to be an expectation that I am not likely to fly away in the middle of the ongoing research and development effort. So that’s the 1 disadvantage to freelance for me: To build something really big, you need to be a stable part of the company, which means freelance won’t work.

Yes, Freelancing does have some disadvantages. Unlike a regular 9-5 job where your work is done when you leave the office, in freelancing you don't leave your work until you're done. If you don't work, you don't get paid. If you don't work hard enough or fast enough, and your clients were dissatisfied with your work, you don't get second chances.

There are some sites now who can facilitate your work hours so it's now possible to have a break from your work.
Although I agree with the fact that you're not insured to get another job from your client, the same is also true for people working for companies. If you don't get your job done right, you get fired.

Well said mate!
Thus I firmly believe that one should not solely rely on freelancing...rather he must have some kind of promotional or sales web page out there and work on it simultaneously...also there should not be only one resource to get work...one should be attached to as many places as he can, which has got his type of jobs available...I mean different forums like digitalpoint.com and of course popular portals for free lancers.
